Know the Consortium

The Consortium of Tourist Businessmen of Sanxenxo (CETS) was born in 2002 as a professional and business organization, of municipal scope and without spirit of profit, constituted for the coordination, representation, management, promotion and defense of the business interests in the tourist sector, who generates near the 85 % of the Gross Domestic Product of Sanxenxo and 60 % of the local employment..

The Consortium was born from the fusion of the following entities;

  • Centro de Iniciativas Turísticas de Sanxenxo.
  • Hosteleros Unidos de Sanxenxo.
  • Hoteles de la Playa de Sanxenxo.

Currently CETS has 120 associates representing the sectors of accommodation, restoration and complementary activity, and a strong presence in the municipality of Sanxenxo. With a two- storey Headquarters and three tourist information offices, it has professionals specialized in the sector, being the only existing tourist association in our municipality.

Main Objectives

  • Bring the sector together.
  • Encourage and defend the private tourist enterprise.
  • Promote and defend associationism and business unity.
  • To represent and defend the interests of the associates before the society in general, and before the public Administration and the Trade Unions in particular.
  • To look for initiatives that contribute to improve the quality and management of our tourist companies.
  • To promote the economic and tourist development of Sanxenxo.

“Q” de Calidad Turística

The “Q” for Tourism Quality is the brand that represents quality in the Spanish tourism sector. The establishments endorsed by the “Q for Quality” have passed strict audits that ensure that their service is a guarantee of quality, safety and professionalism. Many establishments in the municipality have already been certified with this distinction, and many others are already putting all their efforts into achieving it.

Sicted

Sanxenxo stands out for being the Galician municipality with the most companies certified in SICTED. Sanxenxo began its engagement to the “Sistema Integral de Calidad Turística Española en Destinos” (SICTED) in 2004. The SICTED is a project to improve the quality of tourist destinations promoted by TURESPAÑA and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which works with tourism companies/services of up to 30 different offices, with the ultimate object of improving the experience and satisfaction of tourists.

Banderas Azules

Sanxenxo also boasts quality in its sandy beaches. In recent years it has been the Spanish municipality with the most Blue Flags, a distinction that rewards bathing water quality, environmental management, services and facilities, etc.

Tourism Sanxenxo

The municipality of Sanxenxo is geographically located in the Salnés Valley, between the Rías de Pontevedra and Arousa.

It is made up of seven parishes and the Villas de Sanxenxo and Portonovo are the most important urban centres. In the landscape of the municipality of Sanxenxo we can find two differentiated zones: the inland and the coast. The inland, a succession of soft and undulating valleys, leafy forests and large areas of vineyards and vegetable gardens. The coastal area has two sectors: one rocky, slightly cut, soft and recollected, at the mouth of the estuary, while the other, in the most open area, is sandy and arched, a succession of beaches and points that enter in the sea forming steep and beautiful cliffs and becoming wonderful natural viewpoints.

This rich and varied coastal profile, which stretches for 36 kilometres, is dotted with a succession of magnificent beaches. The natural beauty of the enclave, the special microclimate that characterizes the area of the Rías Baixas and a wide and varied range of quality services have made this municipality one of the most important tourist sites in Galicia and the tourist capital of the Rías Baixas.
